Best dad ever!
He really is.
And here's the proof:
(his look is a reflection of having this done for about 35 minutes. His scalp was raw)

Sophia's BFF's
Soph has recently picked up on the term BFF.
She uses it as a threat or a bribe.
"If you don't I won't be your BF anymore!!!" OR "If you do, I will be your BF!"
This is Glory May.
Sophia's (recently termed but long standing) BFF.
They are 5 weeks apart in age and about 73 feet apart in location. Our backyards touch and the removal of 4 fence slats has made it very convenient for the two of them to see each other on a regular basis.
They are together almost daily. A few month's ago Glory went on a vacation for a week. Sophia went into such horrible withdrawls that I almost had to admit her to a Glory May Detox Center. It was pretty bad.

FHE
We are Monday night regulars here at the local Arctic Circle. We get Fries with dipping sauce and then everyone places their own order: (which seldom varies)
Dad: Soft Serve Twist cone
Anna: Shake
Kirsten: Rootbeer float
Lilly: Oreo Shake
Sophia: Oreo Shake
Mom: Leftovers
And then we have to convince Lilly and Sophia that they will take home some hideous and life threatening disease should they even step foot in the playland.

Thanks Bacon!
I made the mistake of letting Sophia sit with me while I was reading my friends Facebook page the other day. She had posted her daughters latest art work done on a baby doll. This is what Soph saw:
AND this is Soph's interpretation:
Not exactly the same. Ok not even close. But I will be much wiser as to what I let my daughter see while on the computer. It frightens me that this could possibly be a sign of things to come. Oye Vey!

Thanksgiving Point
One of the best things that Jim has taught me (that he learned from his parents) is the art of putting kids to bed. When Jim was a little boy his parents would lay down with him for a few minutes to talk about the day. Jim has since carried on that tradition and when we married I joined in.
Almost every night as I lay next to soph she asks: "Can me and Jordan go to the farm tomorrow?" I have been able to put this off by blaming the cold weather but last week she was able to do the math:
I told her we could go when Lilly and Sydni went to the Zoo (school field trip). As luck would have it, it ended up being unexpectedly cold. It really did, honest! So I took soph and Jordan to the Dinosaur Museum and Soph was none-the-wiser. She and Jordan had a great time.
I love that they are "BF-ers" (Soph's way of saying BFF)

a kiss
I love getting kisses from this kid.
They are soft, sweet and sometimes a little bit wet.
And today's kiss was no different...
however, when I returned the favor her words were sweeter than the kiss. She grabbed her cheek and said:
"I am going to keep that kiss on, mom."

Babe
This is our "adopted" dog Babe
The girls absolutely love her and Sophia has declared on several occasions that she is going to marry Babe one day.
We didn't exactly "adopt" Babe but our good friend Liz (who is Babe's owner) let's us walk, feed and play ball with Babe on a regular basis.
*Helping to take care of someone's dog is about as good as owning one...if you ask me.

lunchtime
It was early out day today and these two goons thought I had nothing better to do today
(my 1 of 2 days in the week where I get exactly 1 hour and 42 minutes to myself)
They were right.
Chick-fil-a and these 2 any day!

washing the dishes?
".....Mom can I help you wash the dishes?" (I gave her a few cups to wash)
" .....Mom, can I wash my feet?" (I helped her take her shoes and socks off)
5 minutes later
....."Soph! What in the world?"
