jr high

Back to School Night Tonight
We found her locker and tried it out
Walked her schedule so she won't get lost tomorrow

Had a special last day of summer dinner with back to school presents
Jim gave the girls their back to school blessings
Lilly wanted one too

Still can't believe the summer is over
I'm going to miss the girls tomorrow
Lilly is going to miss her buddies especially Kirsten who plays with/tortures her

pool time

Today we put in some quality pool time as it is our last monday of Summer

It was Sophia's first time in the pool-she loved it

I can't believe another summer has gone by-how crazy!

Oh and Lilly isn't asleep, she just wanted to be like her big sister Anna and lay out (nice plastic pants huh?)

back 2 skool

It's 10 PM

Anna's back to school party just ended

They were bored at one point and I suggested they play
"Light as a Feather, Stiff as Board"

They just stared at me

And I think I caught a roll of the eyes

If they only knew...

If they only knew

potty training. . .take 1

I tried to potty train Lilly today. . .

She peed on my rug

School Supplies

When I was a kid I looked forward to a new school year for 2 reasons:

1. JC Penney catalog (my mom handed us the huge catalog and we would circle the clothes we wanted [and then we would go to the bra and panty section and laugh at the ladies belly buttons.] A few weeks later a gigantic box wold arrive and we would sit at her feet while she handed us our new clothes-Christmas in September I loved it!!!)

2. New school bag, lunch box and school supplies. How I loved packing my bag with all of the unnecessary things I SO thought I needed simply to have a bag filled with stuff: protractor, ruler, glue, paper, crayons, folders, markers, colored pencils, pencils, pens, mechanical pencils, erasers, 3x5 cards, highlighters, calculator, dictionary, scissors, lotion, chapstick, 3-4 packs of gum, envelopes, paper hole punch, sewing kit, flashlight, candles , matches, snacks, some sort of toy, pick (for my permed hair), rubix cube, my taped copy of Thriller to dance to at recess, and a Wonder Woman bouncy ball. You name it I packed it.

Well Kirsten has the same idea and after going through her packed bag today and taking out 3 extra bottles of hand sanitizer, 7 erasers, a bottle of Elmer's glue, sticky notes, scissors and then saying to her "umm we don't live in Kosovo. They have this stuff at your school" I realized "Kosovo" was the only school I knew as a kid and I liked it that way.

So I will probably sneak a treat or two onto her bag as well as a bouncy ball. It's too bad I can't send a taped copy of thriller for her and her friends to dance to at recess-but let's be honest would they even know how to use a tape recorder?

back to school

well this is it

-the last week of summer vacation and I've gotta say:

it went by too fast!

Am I actually saying that? I can remember my first summer with the girls (only three years ago-feels like a lifetime) and wondering how I was ever going to make it.

I'm kind of sad because I have enjoyed this summer with the girls. We played lots and went on fun outings and it's Lilly who I feel the most sorry for-she has LOVED playing with her big sisters every day.

So each day we are going to try and do something fun to suck the marrow of life out of their last few days

Today: Back to school haircuts and a late night with friends

They all got a trim and after someone would make a big deal about the older girls hair Lilly would say "Me! Me!" and then tossle (I know it's not a word but that's what she did) her hair for a compliment too.

little red wagon

Three cheers for the Lambert's
Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray!

They let us borrow their little red wagon all day yesterday.

Our streets were being paved and so we had to park outside of the neighborhood. It was a long enough walk and enough errands to necessitate the wagon.

Try to imagine me pulling two babies with three other kids in tow (my sisters darling daughter is staying with us)
Rather comical huh? We were quite a sight to behold.

Good Times!
